In 2009, Strategic Market Alliance (SMA) distributor owner members, including Regional Distributors, Inc., committed to developing a formalized health care program focused on meeting health care’s most important needs – service and education. After much research and development, SMA launched their health care program HealthRite that assists Regional Distributors, Inc. and other SMA members in delivering the proper products, services, and solutions to the health care industry. SMA is a proud partner to numerous GPOs including Prime Services, Novation, Navigator, 1Government Procurement Alliance (1GPA), MedAssets, and Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI), giving us the ability to utilize extremely competitive contract pricing for our customers. Through HealthRite, all SMA distributors assign health care specialists to remain current on health care issues and concerns, as well as serve as a conduit between distribution and SMA on all industry related matters. All SMA health care specialists are experienced in servicing the health care industry and maintain memberships in APIC and ASHES. HealthRite has been well received by the nation’s largest GPOs, including Premier, Inc. and CPS Care Purchasing, as well as the industry’s key manufacturers. As a result of this commitment to health care, SMA recently became an approved housekeeping distributor for both Novation and MedAssets.
SMA's trademarked O.S.C.A.R.® Program (Optimizing Strategic Coalition to Accelerate
Results) unites distributors & suppliers in a process designed to more clearly understand and respond to the expectations of specific customers and their segment-specific challenges. The adoption of this preparedness program has enabled SMA affiliates to positively impact their customers by delivering the intended results. O.S.C.A.R is a systemized approach that enables SMA to assist decision makers at multi-location companies to achieve greater compliance and adoption of enterprise wide initiatives. International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA)
The International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) is a world-wide trade association for the professional cleaning industry with over 5,500 distributor, manufacturer, building service contractor, and in-house service provider members that are certified with reaching the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS).
CIMS is the first consensus-based management standard that outlines the primary characteristics of a successful, quality cleaning organization. CIMS is more than just a way for cleaning organizations to set themselves and their green cleaning operations apart in the marketplace. CIMS certifications differentiates an organization from the competition by demonstrating their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, improves the organization’s overall operations, and saves money for both the organization and its customers.
Our Equipment Sales & Training Manager Michael Whitfield is a certified CIMS Expert (CIMS-I.C.E) and CIMS Green Building Expert (CIMS-GB), and a CITS Accredited Certified Trainer (ACT). These certifications and accreditations demonstrate that Regional Distributors, Inc. is prepared to deliver quality, customer-focused services and ensures an organization is capable of delivering a comprehensive green cleaning program based on LEED: EB O&M green-cleaning criteria.
Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce (formerly Rochester Business Alliance)
Regional Distributors, Inc. supports our local community as a member of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. The Rochester Chamber supports the nine-county Rochester region (Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates counties), and provides human resource services, training courses, and networking opportunities, as well as advocating at the local, state, and federal levels for an environment essential for Rochester businesses to succeed. Regional’s acquisition of RJS in 2004 strategically extended the company’s wholesale and manufacturer janitorial & sanitary maintenance product offering allowing the company to deliver a larger, more diverse range of cleaning products and solutions.

Paper Distributors, Inc. Buffalo (PDI)
Regional’s acquisition of Paper Distributors, Inc. (PDI) in 2006 strategically and significantly expanded the company’s portfolio allowing Regional to become one of the leading distributors of wholesale and manufacturer ice cream and frozen yogurt products, toppings, cones, bases, mixes, and novelty desserts in Western New York and the Albany area.
