Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sales representatives hit their assigned sales goals by reviewing sales practices and reports and developing plans to address performance gaps. Ensure team hits sales goals assigned by strategic supply partners. Director of Sales will also be responsible for managing their own accounts.

  • Manage, advise, coach, and motivate an outside sales team to improve their behaviors, skills, techniques, and performance. Support the team to achieve their objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analyzing data on past performance, fostering customer engagement, and projecting future performance.

  • Continuously evaluate and tweak the sales process and develop sales strategies to acquire new customers and penetrate new markets. 

  • Recruit, hire, and train new sales representatives. Plan and implement regular skills training programs. 

  • Provide expertise when setting and adjusting pricing plans and discount rates, and provide advanced negotiation expertise.

  • Meet with reps one-on-one weekly to review performance, progress, and targets, as well as monthly to coach one-on-one through phone and email work, prospecting, and planned sales rides to improve sales performance. Provide support for sales associates to help generate leads and close new deals.

  • Plan and preside over quarterly sales team meetings.

  • Deliver deep performance reviews for each individual rep once per year and share with management.

  • Unite the team to ensure reps work as a positive unit and share their best practices. Motivate and engage the sales team with monetary and non-monetary motivational tactics, such as sales contests, incentive packages, prizes, and public recognition.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, quality of the company’s relationship with them, monitor preferences, and recommend solutions to best accommodate customer needs. Monitor competition, economic indicators, and industry trends.

  • Quickly resolve escalated customer issues and customer complaints regarding sales and service and implement process to avoid future issues.

  • Ensure that reps use sales technologies, including CRM, online sales tools, mobile devices, and apps consistently and correctly.

  • Prepare budgets and approve expenditures. 

  • Ensure the team is upholding the company’s mission, values, and principles with every interaction and daily responsibility. 

  • Ensure that the sales department works cross functionally with executives from other departments including business operations, warehouse operations, purchasing, and marketing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • 10+ years of sales experience in the jan/san industry
  • 2+ years in leadership sales position
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals
  • Successful experience building a territory from little or nothing
  • Skilled at building rapport, opening doors, and understanding business 
  • High energy, ambitious, decisive, and results-oriented
  • Innovative, generating original solutions and lots of ideas
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation software, mobile devices, Microsoft Suite, and social media
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and reliable transportation.

Job Summary

Regional Distributors, Inc. is one of the largest distributors of janitorial, food service, paper, and packaging products and equipment in the Western NY and Albany areas. We are looking for an experienced Territory Account Manager (Sales) to join our enthusiastic, service-orientated team. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record selling products and recommending relevant solutions to current and prospective customers, enthusiastic energy providing customer support, and eagerness to support the company’s values, principles, and goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure revenue growth by consistently working to improve customer experiences by listening and proactively analyzing their current and future needs and by providing exceptional customer support.

  • Strive to become a specialist, and not merely a generalist, by proactively researching and understanding customers’ key business drivers, observing their company’s operations, developing relationships with key stakeholders, selling relevant products to meet their specific goals, providing reliable back-up information, data, and materials, and nurturing relationships throughout the entire lifetime cycle, both offline and online.

  • Evaluate, recommend, describe, and demonstrate relevant and substitute products and solutions to maintain relationships and grow sales. Actively sell and support company’s products, provide product information (brochures, videos, samples, etc.), and answer questions in a timely manner.

  • Submit customer orders, maintain inventories, and provide timely customer support while in the field by utilizing company devices and technologies. Work to identify and resolve customer challenges and issues before they occur.

  • Develop and implement weekly sales plans that include a schedule of prearranged calls and visits to current and new customers and ensure all appropriate sales tool and materials are organized in advance.

  • Grow existing customer base by identifying prospective customers through on-site evaluations, customer referrals, internal lead reports, and online research.

  • Nurture and maintain customer relationships through scheduled and impromptu in-person visits, follow-up emails and phone calls.

  • Engage in problem solving by attentively listening to customers’ needs, proactively performing analysis, and interpreting purchase trends. Enlist and communicate with coworkers to ensure exceptional, timely service and that operations are performing at highly efficient levels.

  • Maintain knowledge of the company’s product offerings, operations, goals, communications outlets, and industry trends and business landscape.

  • Represent the company in the most professional of manners during all customer interactions and networking opportunities by upholding the company’s mission, core values & principles, and company culture of trust, honesty, respect, reliability, and attentiveness.

  • Maintain close contact with the Vice President regarding account activity, customer needs, prices, customer feedback, and product quality. 


Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field and two years of sales or related experience is required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be highly self-motivated.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge or experience with the janitorial and/or food service industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with operating desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ability to learn internal business systems is preferred.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Regional Distributors, Inc. is one of the largest distributors of cleaning, food service, paper, and packaging products and equipment in Western NY. We are looking for a customer-oriented field Service Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing commercial warewashing machines and chemical dispensing equipment to our restaurant, hotel, educational, and institutional customers. The primary goal of the Service Technician is to ensure professional and timely service, maintain Regional's high level of service standards, and create exceptional customer service experiences.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SERVICES:

  • Regular preventative maintenance on commercial dish machines from a variety of manufacturers.
  • Installation of dish machines, dilution control, and chemical dispensing systems.
  • Provide recommendations to customer on proper equipment and chemical usage.
  • Diagnostic and repair services on commercial dish machines and equipment from a variety of manufacturers.
  • Identify replacement parts needed.
  • Communicate with Service Coordinator regarding necessary parts to be ordered and repairs needed, including estimate of labor involved.
  • Follow instructions of Service Coordinator in scheduling and dispatching service calls and installations.
  • Installation of commercial dispensers (towel, tissue, hand soap, etc.) on an as-needed basis. 
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and reasoning ability.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a highly professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Flexibility to adapt and adjust your schedule on a daily basis; ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to share in a rotating on-call schedule with 2-3 other technicians, in order to cover emergency calls after hours and on weekends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds, as well as frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below the waist.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license and DMV record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 4-year college degree.
  • Plumbing and/or electrical experience.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers.
  • Experience repairing and servicing vacuums and other floor machines.
